First Thousand Flips

First listing sprint planner

Turn the first things you want to sell into dated photo and listing sessions, and see the day the last one goes live.

4 sessions get all 10 items listed: photos on Tue Oct 27, first listing live Thu Oct 29, last one Tue Nov 3. Don't buy anything until that one is posted.

Show the math
  1. Photos: 10 items × 4 min = 40 min
  2. Listing: 170 min across 10 items
  3. Total: 210 min ÷ 60 min per session = 3.5, so at least 4
  4. Sessions planned: 4. Photos come first, items stay in your order, and no single photo or listing job is split across two sessions.
  5. Dates: one session per day you named, starting Mon Oct 26.

Why plan ten listings at all

Month one is a finishing month. The stall isn't finding things to sell. It's a crate of finds on the table three weeks later, still unlisted. How to start reselling lays out the plan: ten things you already own, photographed in one sitting, listed in one sitting, before you buy anything.

This puts that plan on a calendar. Each item gets a session and a date, so the sprint has an end.

How to get honest inputs

  • Minutes to list one: time your first listing and type that. Your first few will be slower than you think.
  • Slow items: clothing needs measurements and electronics need testing. Add their minutes after a comma.
  • Session length: what you can do without stopping, not the whole evening.

Pick items from what to sell first if you're not sure which ten.

The math

StepRule
Work listphotograph every item, then list every item, in the order you typed
Session filladd jobs until the next one won't fit, then start a new session
Fewest possible sessionstotal minutes ÷ minutes per session, rounded up
Datesone session on each day you named, from the start date

No single photo or listing job is split across two sessions, so the plan can need one more session than the plain division.

What it can't see

It doesn't count shipping, messages or the trip to the drop-off. Ship your first sale the next day and leave room for it. It also can't make the listings good. Posted beats perfect in month one.

Questions

How many items should a new reseller list first?

Ten is enough to hit every step once: photos, measurements, listing, packing. The planner takes any number up to 60, but the first sprint works best small.

Why photograph everything before listing?

Batching keeps the setup out once. Ten listings stop being ten separate projects when the photos are already done.

What if a session runs over?

Move the leftover item to the next session and change its minutes in the list. Run the plan again and the dates update.

Is my list saved?

Your entries are saved in this browser only. Nothing is sent anywhere. Download CSV keeps a copy of the plan.

Disclosure The FlowLister team writes First Thousand Flips. FlowLister is our AI eBay listing tool: from your photos it writes the title, category, item specifics, a price from sold listings and the shipping, and it publishes to eBay through eBay's official Trading API, using eBay's own sign-in. It is AI, so it misses things. We built it, so read this as a disclosure, not a review. Nothing on this site needs it.
